Heroes are your main agents in Indomitus, and you rely on them to accomplish everything from leading troops in battle to building city walls and transporting resources. You can't do much without heroes to carry out your orders, so it is worth your while to invest in recruiting and training them.
- Click the “Heroes” button:
- Here you can view Hero information, their rallied squads, and any Gear or Items they may want to use.

- Level:
- The higher a hero’s level, the more powerful they will become. Remember to click “upgrade” to increase your hero’s level when they earn enough experience.
- Experience: ![]()
- This bar displays your hero’s progress towards the next level.
- When you have enough experience to level up (the exp bar is completely green), remember to click “upgrade” to level up your hero.
- Click the plus sign to use experience boosting items.
- Unused Points & Growth Rate:
- Each increase in level grants fixed boosts to each stat. Each stat’s growth rate is shown next to the current value on the hero info screen. Click a plus sign next to a stat to apply the point, then click the check mark to confirm. After reaching level 30 and augmenting, your hero will receive 1 additional stat point per level that you can assign as you wish.
- Stamina: ![]()
- Heroes require stamina to carry out most actions in game. City Improvement and Deployment consume Stamina. Heroes naturally regenerate 200 Stamina per hour. Certain items can also instantly regenerate Stamina, click the plus sign next to the stamina bar to use these.
- Basic Stats:
- Put simply, stats determine your hero’s performance in and out of battle. Higher stats will improve your damage and defense in battle, and the effect of city improvements out of battle.

Abilities and Formations

- Some heroes, including all legendary heroes, start out with a few abilities and formations. These give various passive and active bonuses to your heroes in battle. You can further customize and empower your heroes by using scrolls to learn additional abilities and formations later.
- Scrolls can be found in the arena, either from boss stages of the Historical Campaigns or by purchasing them with badges in Last Man Standing. Use scrolls by clicking “Heroes” on the lower right menu, the find the scroll in the items panel on the hero screen.
- Aside from regular scrolls used to learn new specialties, there are also training scrolls that allow you to upgrade specific abilities.

- Aside from regular scrolls used to learn new specialties, there are also training scrolls that allow you to upgrade specific abilities.
- Training scrolls can be found by using Scroll Scouting at the Black Market. Use these to upgrade skills.
- If you have many low level Training Scrolls, you can exchange them at the Black Market for higher levels.
- The Formula:
- Lv. X Training Scroll * X + Augur's Seal * 10 = Lv. (X + 1) Training Scroll
- Which means: You can exchange two Lv. 2 Training Scrolls for one Lv. 3 Training Scrolls, three Lv. 3 Training Scrolls for one Lv. 4 Training scroll, and so on.
- Upgrading abilities will require a certain amount of experience.
Recruiting Heroes
- Go to the Altar of Heroes at the city interface. Here you can summon heroes from the great beyond and recruit them to aid your cause.

- Paying silver to chant incantations or gold to inscribe runes will summon a new group of heroes to choose from.

- If you’re lucky, you might even get a legendary hero! Legendary heroes are more likely to appear when using gold to refresh the list. Legendary heroes can be recognized by the star next to their name, or the color that their name appears in.

- Inscribing Runes, Making Sacrifices, or Performing Rituals will give increased chances of receiving more powerful, legendary heroes, but require Gold.
- Legendary Heroes are divided into Bronze, Silver, and Gold legends. The spirits of Gold Legends are unique, with extraordinarily high stats and unique skills, and are extremely difficult to summon with mere incantations.
Leveling
- Heroes will earn experience automatically whenever they kill enemy units while attacking or defending cities on the world map.
- Some Mission or Event rewards can instantly give Experience.
- Training is a safer, more stable method of leveling.
Training
- Click on the Amphitheatre in the City interface to view training options.
- You can use your heroes as usual even while they’re engaged in Training at the Amphitheatre
- The silver cost of training increases in relation to Hero level.
- The “Martial Pedagogy” research will increase the amount of experience earned through training.
- Experience earned through training is only added once the training session is completed or canceled.
- Canceled training sessions will award partial experience.
Training Slots

- Each hero occupies a single training slot while training.
- You start out with one training slot
- As your development or title increases you, additional training slots will unlock automatically.
- You can see how much Training time remains based on the amount of the Hero icon that is still covered in green.
Training Duration & Modes

Duration:
- The duration simply determines how long your Hero will remain in training. You’ll need some gold on hand to view the 24 hour and 72 hour options.
Mode:
- More advanced training modes can increase the total experience produced by a training session.
Inspiration

- Because training takes time to complete, you can use Inspirations to immediately add a lump of experience.
- You need to wait for a cool down period between each Inspiration.
- Inspirations can be earned as rewards for attacking or defending cities, or from boss fights in Historical Campaigns.
- The Double Exp Chance shows the chance that double experience will be earned. This chance changes every 30 minutes, increasing if the arrow points up or decreasing if the arrow points down. Keep your eye on this chance to get the most out of your Inspirations.
