The goal in Indomitus is simple, capture every city on the map. Accomplishing the goal, however, is anything but simple.
What you need to know to succeed in Indomitus:
Resources: Silver is the most critical early game resource. Food is the most critical end game resource. Don’t neglect either if you want to stay competitive from beginning to end!
Manors: There are a few things to consider when deciding on a location for your next manor.
1) How many resource lots does the city have? (2-7)
2) Does the city have a bonus?
3) What type of manor do you need to develop?
4) How far is the city from your other manors? How far is the city from the battle front?
All of these options should be considered and weighed carefully. For example: A 7777 resource city with +20% Stone output may sound like a great place to build your manor, but if it’s in the far corner of the map way far away from your other manors, it will be too difficult to maintain.
- Silver manors don’t need to be too close to anything, but war factories definitely need to be close to the battle front so that you can get them in battle quickly without consuming too much food.
Heroes: With just a few really strong heroes, you can make a real difference in battle. You’ll always need a few heroes in reserve for delivering resources (especially food), moving units from war factories to strategic points, and improving cities. It’s better to have a few heroes always on the front lines with full squads and max food provisions than to bring all your heroes with small squad sizes and little food to suicide in battle once a week.
You’ll definitely want to focus primarily on a single unit type to get the most out of your research. Don’t make the mistake of building higher level units before your economy can support it. The costs of recruiting and feeding tier 2, tier 3, and ultimate soldier units increases exponentially with each upgrade. It’s better to have full squads of low tier units than small sized squads with more advanced units.
However, it won’t hurt to build a few squads of other units to help diversify your forces in the arena. Remember, infantry - cavalry – archer are like rock – paper – scissor, you might not perform the best with just one unit type in the arena.
Also, don’t forget to have sufficient Porters and Pack Mules on hand to help deliver resources between manors!
Ultimate Soldiers: Ultimate Soldiers are a definite luxury unit. You won’t be able to afford feeding an entire army of them, so you should aim to recruit just one or two squads full. Do your best to preserve them so that you can use them in the arena. Only risk losing them in the most critical battles. Used correctly, they gave give you a real edge. Used incorrectly, they’re a serious drain on your resources.
Guilds: A powerful Guild will greatly improve your play experience. You should NEVER attack a city alone. Follow your guild leaders’ instructions and you will be sure to enjoy success in some epic and exciting battles.
